You will have the advantage of a small practice, a very high staff to patient ratio, and a small number of active patients. Within a short time, the staff will come to know you. We wish to create a relationship with our patients based on education, respect, and understanding. We encourage you to ask questions about your treatment and our procedures. You are encouraged to be a partner in formulating your treatment plan.
In an effort to accommodate her patients and to afford the most beneficial and effective care available in her field of specialization, Dr. Hughes keeps her practice to a manageable size through contained growth and careful scheduling. In an area with this degree of discretion and time-sensitive procedures, we offer efficient
and accommodating scheduling, 7 day a week treatments and 24 hour personal telephone contact
on an as needed basis.
Please understand that non-emergency patients may have to wait for an initial lengthy consultation. Follow-up appointments are more readily available.
Depending upon the nature of your case, certain tests or procedures may be performed at the initial consultation. We encourage you to have medical records sent prior to your appointment. If you are being evaluated for a fertility disorder, you are encouraged to bring your partner with you.
Dr. Hughes is associated with the Institute for Reproductive Medicine & Science
at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ, for advanced reproductive technology
services such as IVF. However, all infertility surgery such as hysteroscopy,
laparoscopy and myomectomies, take place at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Dr. Hughes' relationship with Saint Barnabas' IVF program offers residents of northern New Jersey the opportunity to have their consultations, testing, monitoring and therapy performed by Dr. Hughes 7 days a week in her office. Patients requiring in vitro fertilization will have their oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers performed at the Institute's premier facility in Livingston, New
Jersey. The IVF physician team consists of Dr. Hughes, along with 3 other female
physicians - Drs. Margaret Garrisi, Serena Chen and Natalie Cekleniak. The program boasts a world-renowned embryology
team under the direction of Jacques Cohen, Ph.D. The clinical laboratory
director is John Garrisi, Ph.D.
